10th International Competition Porec Fest 2019
Art School Porec organized 10th International guitar and violin competition “Porec Fest” which took place from 2nd to 5th of May 2019 at three locations: the Concert Hall of the Porec Art School, the Istrian Parliament and the Porec Theater. 135 contestants from Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina participated on this year’s Porec Fest.
The Solo Violin Competition took place in 6 categories at the Concert Hall of the Porec Art School throughout the Friday, 3rd of May and Saturday, 4th of May. The contestants were evaluated by an international jury composed of eminent artists and pedagogues: Nenad Merle (Croatia), Evgenia Epshtein (Israel/Croatia), Krunoslav Maric (Croatia) and Andjelko Krpan (Croatia).
The competition for solo guitar discipline in 6 categories took place at the Istrian Parliament on Friday, 3rd of May and on Saturday 4th of May. The competition was judged by a respectable international jury: Xhevdet Sahatxhija (Croatia), Maroje Brcic (Croatia), Alejandro Cordova (Mexico) and Sasa Dejanovic (Croatia), while the competition for chamber ensembles in 2 categories took place at the Porec Theater on Sunday, 5th of May, and was evaluated by eight judges for violins and guitars.
Euro-Unit sponsored this year’s competition together with partners Savarez and Corelli. We all contributed to the education of young and prospective musicians.
