Groznjan, all about jazz
The Istrian town of Groznjan was this year once again the center of jazz and jazz musicians. From July 14 to July 27, 2018, the traditional international Jazz Festival, Jazz is Back! BP, hosted the top musicians who spread the positive energy through music, concerts and friendship, and it was therefore difficult to leave Groznjan and Istria.
It is worth mentioning the “Summer Jazz School” held from 13 to 28 July 2018 with mentors: Luis Bonilla (USA), Thana Alexa Pavelic (CRO/USA), Vladimir Samardzic (RS), John Rilley (USA), Elvis Stanic (CRO), Hector Martignon (CU / USA), and from 18 to 29, Karlheinz Miklin of Austria joined them.
The drummer seminar “Croatia Drum Camp – goes jazz” was held from 21 to 28 July 2018 with the famous mentors: John Riley (USA), Howard Curtis (A, USA), Robby Ameen (USA, CU), Trevor Tomkins (UK) and Petar Curic (CRO). This year’s camp, led by world-famous drummers and professors, sponsored by Euro-Unit together with partners Yamaha, Paiste, Vic Firth and Lion Style.
The tradition of supporting quality musical events has continued this year as we have been sponsors of the festival together with our longtime partner Yamaha, while Euro-Unit was again in charge of the entire festival production, from PA, instruments and complete equipment on stage. We are extremely proud with the cooperation with the organizers and all the professional work that was done.
It was nice to spend time for two weeks with top musicians and a wonderful audience, but we all had to leave home. We always have next year, so we’ll see each other again in Groznjan, next summer.
