International piano competition Jurica Murai 2017

The Varaždin School of Music organize the International Piano Competition “Memorijal Jurica Murai” (Tribute to Jurica Murai) and the Murai Grand Prix. The International piano competition is divided into two parts that together with the name of the Croatian pianist, the academician Jurica Murai, and the Varaždin School of Music as an organiser, form an inseparable whole. The competitions will be held on the School premises in the baroque Erdödy Palace in Varaždin. The School has been promoting musical education since 1828, thus contributing greatly to the cultural tradition of the Town of Varaždin. The competitions organized by the Varaždin School of Music aim at the artistic development of young talented musicians, promotion of international cultural cooperation, the exchange of experiences and tourism promotion of the Town of Varaždin, the County of Varaždin, as well as of North West Croatia. International Piano Competition – Memorijal Jurica Murai and Murai Grand Prix will be held from April 24th to April 29th 2017. Memorijal Jurica Murai (Tribute to Jurica Murai) is intended for young pianists up to 19 years old and Murai Grand Prix is a competition intended for pianists, 17-32 year-old artists. More than 200 pianists from 11 countries signed up for the contest.

Euro-Unit is the sponsor of the competition and with partner Yamaha we will donate Yamaha P45 stage piano to the winner in category A. Just like last year’s competition, this year also, Euro-Unit will lend Yamaha CFX Premium Piano tor the competition, so the participants can perform songs on the high grade instrument.
