The Opus Music Association and the Albert Štriga Music School in Križevci are the organizers of this year’s eighth edition of the Sonus International Competition of Young Musicians, which took place from March 20th until 28th, 2024, in the premises of the Albert Štriga Music School in Križevci.

392 contestants from 7 to 23 years of age applied for this year’s competition. They competed in six disciplines: guitar, piano, solfeggio, tambourine, percussion and violin. Together with partners  Ludwig, Pearl, Adams and Alpine,  EURO-UNIT was the main musical sponsor of the International Competition of Young Musicians Sonus op. 8 in the percussion category, which was held on March 23rd and 24th.

Competitors and their mentors came from all parts of Croatia and Croatian music schools, from Zagreb, Varaždin and Bjelovar through Požega, Osijek and Vukovar to Rijeka and Split, as well as from neighboring countries – Slovenia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Performances of young musicians in each discipline were scored by a jury composed of eminent professors.
