Company of origin, not country of origin
Our guitar product specialist visited Yamaha factories in Hamamatsu – Japan and Hangzhou – China in arrangement by Yamaha Music Europe. In addition to factories, he visited the Yamaha guitar museum and Yamaha Communication Plaza, Museum of motorcycles and vehicles. The main purpose of the tours thru the production facilities was a detailed introduction and comparison of production processes in these two factories.
Although very different by size, number of employees, and the quantity of produced specimens, a common feature of production processes in both plants is a high percentage of manual labor, technology, and rigorous, multiple quality control. Yamaha Music Craft in Hamamatsu – Japan produces top models in quantities about 60 guitars a month, while a plant in Hangzhou in China ejects daily total of 1,000 guitars of the series APX guitar, CPX, LL, A, FG, FGX, CG, NTX and others. “Company of origin, not country of origin” is a Yamaha’s buzz word, where YAMAHA name guarantees a high quality product regardless to the country of production.
