Whether you are a professional guitarist, playing guitar occasionally or you’re just a fan of the guitar world, one thing is certain, Omiš is a must-see place from April 19th to 22th this year. Something special is happening in this beautiful town just 25 km away from Split. Omiš Guitar Fest is one of the biggest regional guitar festivals and this year celebrates its 8. birthday. This event will not be missed by guitar fans. The place where the festival takes place is also special, it’s inside the old city, next to the sandy beach at the river Cetina. To cut a long story short, Omiš guitar fest is a pleasure both for ears and eyes. The organizer is extremely pleased with the great interest in the festival and applications for all 11 categories for electric, classical and acoustic guitar. Applications were received from Argentina to India and most of the European countries, so this year they expect huge number of competitors and guests. Because of the great prizes and a high reputation in the past seven years, it’s no surprise for such a big interest. This year’s concerts will include top guitarists like Carlo Marchione, Goran Krivokapić, Vlatko Stefanovski, Zele Lipovača, Vojin Kocić, Petar Čulić, David Dyakov, Ansambl Laurum, Francesco Scelzo and many others, while American country attraction Sleepy Man will play on the last festival day. In addition to competitions and concerts, the organizers will further enrich the program with exhibitions, lectures and book promotions. For a special fashion-show as part of the festival, Euro-Unit will promote selection of Ivan’S and Yamaha guitars.
