30th meeting of Croatian brass bands, the central event of Wind amateurism in the Croatia was in Novi Vinodolski from 11th-12th June 2016, organized by the Croatian Cultural council and co-organized by the City of Novi Vinodolski and the Center for Culture of the town, HDS ZAMP, Tourist Board of Novi Vinodolski and Jadran dd Crikvenica. Exclusive Sponsors of Meeting for this year were Euro-Unit doo, Yamaha Music Europe and Lion Style.
Rich concert program included more than 800 musicians, and took place over the weekend June 11 and 12 in the House of Culture in Novi Vinodolski. Admission was free for all students and lovers of brass music.
This year’s meeting was presented with the most successful orchestras held at 10 county festival where competed 54 orchestra and more than 1,800 musicians, which demonstrates the richness of brass amateurism in Croatia. The program of the meeting prepared by the expert service of the Croatian Parliament of Culture in collaboration with expert advice on wind orchestras HSK, Mladen Tarbuk, Sime Vulelija and Miro Saje during 2015.
30th Meeting began together in play with all orchestras participants on the Square of Ivan Mažuranića in Novi Vinodolski, while the opening ceremony of the meeting in the House of Culture participated Brass Band “Zvonimir” from Solin, Sopile KUD “Elijah Dorčić” and folk singers from Novi Vinodolski . There was a competition program, in which participating bands from B and C categories that come from Solin, Karlovac, Kašina, Virje, Prelog, Ogulin, Stnkova, Daruvar, Mosor, Krapina, Virovitica, Zagreb, Zapresic, Kastel Luksic, Dekanovec, Tuhelj, Lepoglava and Zabok. At the end of the two-day program, as a guest of the meeting performed Band Bohinj from Slovenia. Despite the rainy weather, outdoor were held concerts of orchestra’s participants in Novi Vinodolski and Selce.
Enviably high level of musicianship orchestra at the meeting confirmed the expert committee; Filip Pavišić (Chairman), Ivan Josip Skender and Marin Zokic, which decided on the most successful orchestras of meeting and the winners won valuable instruments that were handover from exclusive sponsors of competition; Euro-Unit doo, Yamaha Music Europe and Lion Style..
